About Curtis Cottle

Since 2008, Curtis Cottle has helped numerous clients prepare for their retirement. Curtis puts a large focus not only on growing your retirement assets but also lessening overall risk. When Curtis got into business in 2008 it was a tough time for the market and the economy. He worked very hard to stay on top of his client’s needs and manage his client’s investments from unnecessary risk in their portfolios.

Curtis is the Founder and Managing Partner of SBC Financial and is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Curtis is an Investment Adviser Representative, and holds an Accident, Health, Life and Annuity insurance license. Curtis has a strong specialization on Social Security claiming and income planning. For the last 5 years Curtis has been holding seminars for about once a month where he teaches pre-retirees how to claim Social Security to seek to increase your benefits to appropriately fit your goals and needs. He has held over 100 different seminar events over the years covering topics such as: 401k and IRA rollovers, avoiding common retirement mistakes, paying less taxes in retirement as well as Social Security.

His office is located in Grand Rapids, MI where he and his team enjoy serving their clients. Curtis is partners with his brother Tyler Cottle who joined the firm in 2015. Tyler has an accounting degree from Grand Valley State University and focuses on lowering taxes for his clients in retirement and their investment strategies and has joined Curtis in teaching seminars on these topics. Curtis has many roots in Michigan and has lived in the Grand Rapids area for the last 10+ years. Curtis enjoys traveling with his family, exercising and outdoor activities such as hunting, kayaking and hiking.
